Mario’s Mushrooms™ — Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our all-in-one sterilized mushroom grow kits—from what’s in the bag to cultivation tips, shipping, and replacements.

What’s included in the Mario’s Mushrooms™ All-In-One Grow Kit?

Each kit contains a pre-sterilized, all-in-one substrate bag with a balanced blend of grain and bulk substrate, a self-healing injection port, a filter patch for gas exchange, and a step-by-step grow guide. Spores or liquid culture are not included.

Do you include spores or cultures?

No. We sell sterilized substrate bags and grow supplies only. Please source legal spores/cultures according to your local laws.

What is your refund or replacement policy?

We don’t offer cash refunds. However, if your kit fails to colonize or fruit due to a manufacturing issue (e.g., contamination on arrival), we’ll replace the bag after a quick photo-based review. Reach us at support@mariosmushrooms.com within 14 days of delivery.

How long does shipping take?

Orders ship within 1–3 business days. Transit times are typically 2–5 business days within the U.S. You’ll receive tracking by email when your kit leaves our facility.

How do I inoculate the bag?

Sanitize the injection area, then inject your spore syringe or liquid culture through the self-healing port. Flame-sterilize the needle, wipe with alcohol, inject, then cover the port with the included patch or tape if instructed.

How long does colonization take?

Most gourmet species colonize in 10–21 days at 70–75°F (21–24°C). Time varies by strain, temperature, and inoculant strength. When the bag turns mostly white, it’s ready for fruiting.

When and how do I fruit the kit?

After full colonization, introduce fresh air exchange, indirect light, and 85–95% humidity. Cut or open per the guide to allow mushrooms to form. Mist lightly as needed.

How many flushes can I expect?

With good conditions, many growers get 2–3 flushes. Allow the block to rest a few days between harvests and keep humidity up.

What temperatures work best?

Colonization: 70–75°F (21–24°C). Fruiting: species-dependent, commonly 60–70°F (16–21°C) with high humidity and airflow. Avoid direct sun and extreme heat or cold.

How should I store the kit before use?

Store sealed kits in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Inoculate within 4–6 weeks of purchase for best results.

What if I see contamination?

If the bag shows obvious contamination on arrival, don’t inoculate. Photograph the issue (front/back) and contact support@mariosmushrooms.com within 14 days. We’ll review and provide a replacement when appropriate.

Is this legal where I live?

Our products are sold for lawful use only (e.g., culinary species). Laws vary by location. It’s your responsibility to know and follow your local regulations. We don’t sell or provide controlled substances.

Do you offer bulk or wholesale?
